WEST HAMBLEN COUNTY, TENNESSEE — Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that left two people dead in West Hamblen County, according to Sheriff Chad Mullins.
Deputies responded to a residence on the evening of June 21 after receiving reports from the home. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals inside who had died from gunshot wounds.
The victims have been identified as Beverly Hunt, 49, and James Hunt, 51. Investigators believe the incident was a murder-suicide, though the case remains under active investigation.
Authorities also reported that a family pet was found deceased inside the residence.
The Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office has stated that no additional details are being released at this time as investigators continue to gather information and work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The tragic event has left the local community in shock as friends, family, and neighbors come to terms with the loss of two lives.
